TV Show: Cavemen

Posted by BenSpark on October 19, 2007

Okay, I admit it, I watch the show. It is actually a bit funny at times. I like Nick Kroll on Best Week Ever and his overly pretentious, speciest character, Nick, is probably one of the funnier and still annoying characters on the show. Nick is one of the cavemen and he is that guy who hates everything that the rest of the world thinks is cool. If the rest of the world actually thought that cavemen was a funny show, Nick would hate it. He’s just… that guy.

If you are unfamiliar with the show well basically it centers around three cavemen, Nick Andy and Joel. Joel is the responsible one, he has a job at a store that looks surprisingly familiar to one of those stores that I really, really like, say IKEA maybe. While Joel works there his friend Nick is working on his dissertation. But lets just say that he’s not really working on it, rather he is dabbling at working on it. He’s been “working” on it for like 4 years. He has no job and is such a lazy freeloader that he sponges off Joel. Andy is Joel’s brother and he has just moved in with Joel and Nick and he’s also broken up with his longtime girlfriend, and they are getting back together and then they are not. He’s sad and funny at the same time.

Also in the cast is the actual Geico Caveman. He goes by the name Maurice, Whoo, Whoo. Maurice is that suave guy who has everything high tech like plasma screen TV’s and a jura capresso maker and the designer clothes and basically everything hip and cool. Maurice isn’t in every episode but often makes an appearance or two. It is usually funny when he appears.

For now we are taping the show while we watch something Bones on Tuesday nights. It is entertaining and is something we can watch quickly while dinner is being made, no major investment in this show so far. It is pretty mindless but also entertaining.

who would have thought that a commercial would have turned into such a smash hit for a tv show? I bet Warren Buffet is laughing all the way to the bank on that one.

I didn’t know that Warren Buffett had something to do with the show. And I certainly didn’t know the show was a smash hit.
